During sexual arousal the body releases nitric oxide, which relaxes the blood vessels in the penis so more blood can flow in and cause an erection. An enzyme called PDE5 normally reverses this process. Sildenafil blocks PDE5, so the blood vessels stay relaxed for longer and an erection is easier to get and keep.
How fast does it work? Most men notice an effect within 30 to 60 minutes. A heavy or fatty meal can delay it.
How long does it last? The effect usually lasts up to about 4 hours. This does not mean a 4-hour erection – it means you can respond to sexual stimulation during that time.
Bawree-100 dosage: how to take it
- Take one tablet with a glass of water about 1 hour before sexual activity (anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours before).
- Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours.
- 100 mg is the highest standard dose of sildenafil. Many men start on 50 mg, and older men or people with liver or kidney problems may start on 25 mg – always use the dose your doctor prescribes.

Who should not take Bawree-100?
Do not take Bawree-100 if you:
- Take any nitrate medicine for chest pain (such as glyceryl trinitrate/nitroglycerin or isosorbide) or use “poppers” (amyl or butyl nitrite) – the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure
- Take riociguat, a medicine for pulmonary hypertension
- Are allergic to sildenafil or any other ingredient of the tablet
- Have been told by a doctor to avoid sexual activity because of a heart problem
- Have had a heart attack or stroke recently, or have very low blood pressure
- Have severe liver problems
- Have lost vision in one eye because of a condition called NAION, or have an inherited eye disease such as retinitis pigmentosa
Talk to your doctor first if you have heart disease, high or low blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, a bleeding disorder or active stomach ulcer, sickle cell anaemia, leukaemia or multiple myeloma, or a deformed penis (such as Peyronie’s disease).
Bawree-100 drug interactions
Tell your doctor about every medicine you take, including those bought without a prescription. Important interactions with sildenafil include:
- Nitrates and riociguat – must never be combined with sildenafil.
- Alpha-blockers for blood pressure or an enlarged prostate (such as doxazosin or tamsulosin) – can cause dizziness or fainting; your doctor may start you on a lower dose.
- Other blood pressure medicines – may increase the blood-pressure-lowering effect.
- HIV protease inhibitors (such as ritonavir) and some antifungals or antibiotics (such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin or erythromycin) – raise sildenafil levels in the blood; a lower dose is usually needed.
- Other ED treatments – do not take Bawree-100 with other sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil products.
- Alcohol and grapefruit juice – large amounts can increase side effects such as dizziness.
How to store Bawree-100
Store Bawree-100 below 30°C in a dry place, in the original blister pack to protect it from moisture. Keep it out of the sight and reach of children, and do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
