Buy Leetrexate-10, a generic methotrexate tablet containing methotrexate 10 mg, made by Johnlee Pharmaceuticals. Choose a pack of 60, 90, 120 or 150 tablets above – prices start from $0.40 per tablet, with discreet, tracked worldwide shipping. A valid prescription is required.
What is Leetrexate-10?
Leetrexate-10 is a generic methotrexate tablet. Each tablet contains 10 mg of methotrexate, made by Johnlee Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. in India. Methotrexate is a well-established medicine prescribed by specialists for inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and severe psoriasis, and for some types of cancer.
Because Leetrexate-10 is generic methotrexate 10 mg, it contains the same active ingredient as branded methotrexate tablets but at a lower methotrexate price – useful for a medicine that is often taken for a long time.
Important: for arthritis and psoriasis, methotrexate is taken once a week, not every day. Please read the dosage section carefully.
On this page you can choose a pack of 60, 90, 120 or 150 tablets.
Uses of Leetrexate-10
Leetrexate-10 (methotrexate 10 mg) is prescribed for:
- Rheumatoid arthritis – to reduce joint inflammation, pain and long-term joint damage.
- Severe psoriasis – when other treatments have not worked well enough.
- Polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis – under specialist supervision.
- Certain cancers – such as some leukaemias, lymphomas and solid tumours, as part of a treatment plan set by an oncology team.
Doctors sometimes prescribe methotrexate for other inflammatory conditions too. Methotrexate is a strong medicine that needs regular blood test monitoring, so it should only be used under the care of a doctor.
How does Leetrexate-10 work?
Methotrexate is an antimetabolite and a folic acid antagonist. It blocks an enzyme the body needs to use folic acid, which cells require to make DNA and divide.
In cancer, higher doses slow the growth of rapidly dividing cancer cells. In rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, much lower weekly doses calm the overactive immune response that causes inflammation, and slow the rapid turnover of skin cells in psoriasis.
How long does it take to work? For arthritis, most people start to notice an improvement after 3 to 6 weeks, and the full benefit can take 3 months or more. Keep taking it as prescribed even if you do not feel better straight away.
Leetrexate-10 dosage: how to take it
Weekly dosing warning: for rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and other non-cancer conditions, methotrexate is taken ONCE A WEEK – on the same day each week – NOT every day. Taking it daily by mistake can cause serious harm and can be fatal.
- For rheumatoid arthritis, the dose is typically 7.5 mg to 25 mg once a week. For psoriasis, it is usually 10 mg to 25 mg once a week.
- Choose one day of the week (for example, every Monday) and mark it on a calendar or set a reminder.
- For cancer, doses and schedules vary widely and are set by your oncology team – follow their instructions exactly.
- Your doctor will usually prescribe folic acid to reduce side effects; this is taken on a different day from methotrexate.
- Swallow the tablets whole with water. Always use the exact dose your prescribing doctor has told you to take.
- If you miss your weekly dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice – do not double up.
If you think you have taken too much, or taken methotrexate on the wrong day, contact a doctor or emergency service straight away, even if you feel well.
Leetrexate-10 side effects
Like all medicines, methotrexate can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. Regular blood tests help your doctor spot problems early.
Common side effects:
- Nausea, loss of appetite or upset stomach
- Mouth ulcers or a sore mouth
- Tiredness and headache
- Mild hair thinning
- Changes in liver blood test results
Get medical help immediately if you have:
- Fever, chills, sore throat or other signs of infection
- Unusual bruising or bleeding, or blood in your urine or stools
- A new or worsening dry cough or shortness of breath – possible signs of lung inflammation
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes, or dark urine
- Severe diarrhoea, vomiting or severe mouth ulcers
- A severe skin rash, blistering or peeling
Who should not take Leetrexate-10?
Important – weekly dosing: for non-cancer conditions, methotrexate is taken once a week, not daily. Daily dosing errors can be fatal. Check the label every time.
Do not take Leetrexate-10 if you:
- Are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding – methotrexate can seriously harm an unborn baby. Both women and men should use reliable contraception during treatment and for a period after stopping, as advised by your doctor
- Have severe kidney or liver disease, or drink large amounts of alcohol
- Have a serious blood disorder or a severely weakened immune system
- Have a serious active infection
- Are allergic to methotrexate
Talk to your doctor first if you have lung disease, diabetes, a stomach ulcer or ulcerative colitis, or fluid on the lungs or abdomen. Avoid live vaccines during treatment, keep alcohol to a minimum, and attend all blood tests your doctor arranges.
Leetrexate-10 drug interactions
Tell your doctor about every medicine you take, including those bought without a prescription. Important interactions with methotrexate include:
- Trimethoprim and co-trimoxazole – can cause severe, sometimes fatal, bone marrow problems when combined with methotrexate.
- NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, naproxen and aspirin) – can increase methotrexate levels; only take them if your doctor has approved it.
- Some antibiotics (such as penicillins) and probenecid – can reduce how quickly methotrexate is cleared.
- Proton pump inhibitors (such as omeprazole) – may raise methotrexate levels, mainly at high doses.
- Leflunomide and other medicines that affect the liver or blood counts – need extra monitoring.
- Live vaccines and alcohol – should be avoided or limited.
How to store Leetrexate-10
Store Leetrexate-10 below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light, in the original pack. Keep it out of the sight and reach of children, and do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack. Wash your hands after handling the tablets.
Leetrexate-10 – frequently asked questions
How often should I take methotrexate?
For rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and other non-cancer conditions, methotrexate is taken ONCE A WEEK on the same day each week – never every day. Taking it daily by mistake can cause serious harm and can be fatal. For cancer, follow the exact schedule your oncology team gives you.
Why do I need folic acid with methotrexate?
Folic acid can reduce side effects such as nausea, mouth ulcers and liver changes. Your doctor will tell you how much to take and on which day – usually not on the same day as your methotrexate dose.
Can I drink alcohol while taking methotrexate?
Both alcohol and methotrexate can affect the liver, so it is best to avoid alcohol or keep it well within the limits your doctor advises.
Why do I need regular blood tests?
Methotrexate can affect your blood counts, liver and kidneys. Regular blood tests allow your doctor to spot any changes early and adjust your treatment if needed.
Do I need a prescription to buy Leetrexate-10?
Yes. Methotrexate is a prescription medicine that requires ongoing medical supervision. We may ask for a copy of your prescription before we dispatch your order.
Is Leetrexate-10 the same as other methotrexate tablets?
Leetrexate-10 contains methotrexate 10 mg, the same active ingredient found in branded methotrexate tablets such as Trexall® and Maxtrex®. Tablet strengths differ between brands, so always check that your dose in milligrams matches your prescription.
