A valid prescription is required for prescription medicines. This policy explains which products need one, how to send it to RxPillTab (www.rxpilltab.com) and how we check it before dispatch.

Why we ask for a prescription

Prescription medicines need a proper assessment by a qualified prescriber to be used safely. Checking your prescription helps to make sure the medicine, strength and quantity are right for you. It is also a legal and ethical requirement.

Which products need a prescription

Many of the medicines we sell are prescription-only in the USA, Canada and many European countries. Each product page shows whether we require a prescription.

CategoryMedicinesWe require a prescription
Men’s Health / EDSildenafilYes
OncologyTamoxifen, methotrexateYes, and specialist supervision is essential

Even where a product does not need a prescription, we recommend that you speak to a doctor or pharmacist before using it.

How to send your prescription

Upload it at checkout. When your cart contains a prescription medicine, the checkout page shows an Upload your prescription box just above the Place order button. Upload a clear photo or scan (JPG, PNG or PDF, up to 5 MB, up to 3 files). Your order cannot be placed without it. Please:

  • upload a clear, complete and readable photo or scan of the whole prescription; and
  • keep the original, as we may ask to see it.

If you have a problem uploading, or we ask you for a new copy, email it to sales@rxpilltab.com with your order number. While we wait for a valid prescription, your order is shown as On hold in My Account. We do not dispatch a prescription medicine until we have received and verified a valid prescription.

What a valid prescription contains

  • The patient’s full name and address, matching the order
  • The name of the medicine, its strength, dose and quantity
  • Directions for use
  • The prescriber’s name, professional address and registration or licence number
  • The prescriber’s signature
  • The date of issue, and the prescription must still be valid

The quantity ordered must not be more than the prescription allows.

Ordering for someone else

You may order for a person you are legally responsible for, such as a family member you care for. The prescription must be in the patient’s name, and the patient’s details must match the order.

How we verify prescriptions

Our team checks every prescription against your order before dispatch. We may contact you or your prescriber to confirm details or to ask for more information.

When we may refuse or cancel an order

We may refuse or cancel an order, in full or in part, if:

  • we do not receive a prescription for a prescription medicine;
  • the prescription is incomplete, unreadable, expired or cannot be verified;
  • the details on the prescription do not match the order; or
  • we have any concern about the safety of supplying the medicine.

If we cancel an order, we refund you as set out in our Cancellation Policy.

Import rules

A prescription does not replace the import rules of your country, and customs may ask to see it. You are responsible for checking that you may lawfully import the medicine for personal use. See our Shipping Policy.

Your prescription data

Prescriptions contain health data. Files uploaded at checkout are stored in a private area of our website that is not publicly accessible, only our team can open them, and we use them only to handle your order, as described in our Privacy Policy.
